PCWorld Reviews ReplayTV PC Edition

by Jose Alvear

ReplayTV was once a pioneer of stand-alone PVRs but now the company has dropped that product line and instead is only available on a PC. It’s quite a switch, and ReplayTV has finally come out with its first PC software. PCWorld just published a review of the ReplayTV PC Edition which retails for about $100.

PCWorld said that ReplayTV PC Edition has some small “interface quirks?, especially when searching for actors’ last names. They were also frustrated by not being able to convert ReplayTV’s MPEG-2 DVR-MS files to another format.

Overall, PCWorld said that the software worked well and scored a 79 out of 100 (Good). But according to the reviewer, ReplayTV PC Edition works best as a complement to an existing PVR rather than replacing it it.

Head over to ReplayTV for a free 30-day demo of the software.
